Our local League was busy in 2013-2014, providing such programs and services for the community:
- Forums for Nassau County Legislature
- Public Meetings on such topics as redistricting, water on Long Island, climate change, Human Trafficking, the
- Common Core, and continued monitoring of Bay Park
- Moderators for various Candidate Forums – particularly school board races
- Distribution of over a 400 They Represent You (a listing of government officials)
- Student in Albany Program where we send a high school student to Albany
In 2014-2015, we will again provide Candidate Forums in the fall as well as general meetings on a various number of topics and several social gatherings. We need your renewed membership. We hold our dues low, at $50 annually, $75 for the additional household membership, to encourage maximum participation from the community. An additional contribution of any amount will support our many activities, including our newsletter, The Eager Leaguer. We look forward to your response by June 30th.
Thank you for your renewed commitment to the League of Women Voters where hands on work to safeguard democracy leads to civic improvement!
