Registration and Voting Information
Links for downloading a NYS Voter Registration Form and/or an Application for an Absentee Ballot,
can be found on the New York State Board of Elections website. You can also call the NYS Board of Elections Hotline at 1-800-FOR-VOTE, The Nassau County Board of Elections (516-571-2411) or The Nassau County LWV (516-431-1628) to request a voter application.

You can register in person at the Board of Elections, 400 County Seat Drive, Mineola,
Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 4:45 P.M. year-round except any day of election.
Under the provisions of the National Voter Registration Act, if you move within Nassau County and have previously voted, you can go to the new polling place and vote by Affidavit Ballot. Your voter registration will then be transferred to the new polling place.
Persons may register to vote when applying for, or renewing, driving licenses at the Motor Vehicle Bureau or when applying for assistance at the Department of Social Services.
Your registration allows you to vote in school, library, village and special district elections.
Where to Vote
At all local polling places. The Board of Elections sends you a postcard before the general election telling you where to vote. If you do not receive this postcard by early September, call the BOE.

School
and Library
All school elections held on third Tuesday in May to vote on budgets and elect
board members.
Village
On the third Tuesday in March or June, to elect mayors and trustees. Absentee
ballots available from the village clerk.
Special
District
On
the second Tuesday in December with some exceptions, to elect commissioners.
