Port Washington Centennial of Women's Suffrage Tree-Planting Ceremony Park Event. Port Washington Centennial of Women's Suffrage Please join us! This November we celebrate 100 years since New York State signed women's suffrage into law, three years before the United States passed the 19th Amendment. To commemorate this important heritage, the League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset will plant a cherry tree in Blumenfeld Family Park to kick off the Party in the Park at 1 pm.
